Secrets in Bible
It seems that many people want to know about the time of the last days, and many people fall into delusion while predicting the time. Just as the times of the last days belong to the mystery, I came to think that there are several types of mysteries in the Bible.
First, I thought about the secrets hidden in creation. It seems that there are parts that are difficult to understand in the description of the creation process in Genesis, and there are parts that are difficult to understand also in the description of the re-creation in the book of Revelation. Perhaps the creation events in Genesis were before the laws of the world, we experienced and knew, were established, so it seems that there are secrets that are difficult to comprehend with limited knowledge based on our present experience. Also, I meditated on whether the book of Revelation may contain secrets that are difficult to understand because it describes a world that will be created in which the laws we experience and know will collapse and new laws will be created.
The second type of secret is the secret which is to hidden to be known. Mysteries such as the mystery of the cross of Jesus and the mystery of the resurrection were made to be revealed only to the humble, chosen by the hand of the Lord.
The third type of mystery is the mystery which is hidden for our benefit. The reason that the times of the last days are hidden is probably because you can get the benefits of distinguishing the five wise virgins who prepared oil while waiting for the bridegroom to come and the five foolish virgins who did not. If the time of the bridegroom's arrival was known in advance, it would not be possible to prove the love of the true bride who waited for the groom with unwavering heart. In the waiting of the Apostle John, who was waiting for the Lord on the island of Patmos, in David's confession that he waited and longed for the Lord more than waiting for the morning of the watchman, I could see how the wise virgins wait for the Lord.
As I was thinking about the time, I also meditated on how we can discern the true Bridegroom who is to come in an age in which there are many false prophets. I've seen a Japanese movie in the past called Kake Musa. In that movie, there was a scene in which the main character pretending to be a fake on behalf of his dead master deceived everyone, but was unable to deceive the horse his master was always riding. Just like the content of this movie, I meditated on the fact that only those who have always built a relationship of love with the Lord will be able to identify the true bridegroom. The Lord, who gave us the promise of coming, wants to see the faith based on love in us by blocking that time, so I also thought that we should fulfill the mission of a watchman who awakes and prays to announce that the time is imminent.
Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon.". Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
성경의 숨겨진 비밀들
예나 지금이나 말세의 때에 관한 질문도 많고 그 때를 예측 하다가 미혹에 빠지는 일도 많은 듯 합니다. 말세의 때가 비밀에 속한 것처럼 성경에는 몇가지 유형의 비밀들이 있음을 생각해 보게 되었습니다. 먼저 창조 속에 숨겨진 그 비밀들에 대해서 생각해 보았습니다. 창세기에서 나타난 창조 과정의 묘사가 이해하기 어려운 부분들이 있고 요한 계시록에 나타나 재 창조의 묘사도 이해하기 힘든 부분들이 있는 듯합니다. 아마도 창세기에 나타난 창조 사건들은 제가 경험하고 아는 세계의 법칙들이 세워지기 전이었기에 우리의 현재 경험을 바탕으로 한 제한된 지식으로는 헤아리기 어려운 비밀들이 있는 듯합니다. 또한 요한 계시록이 신비롭게 느껴지는 것은 우리가 경험하고 아는 법칙들이 붕괴되고 새로이 만들어질 세계를 묘사한 것이기에 이해하기 어려운 비밀들이 있는 것이 아닌가 묵상해 보았습니다. 두 번째 비밀의 유형은 알려지기 위해 가려진 것들이 있음을 생각해 보았습니다. 예수님의 십자가의 신비와 부활의 신비와 같은 비밀들은 오직 주님의 손으로 선택된, 겸손한 자들에게만 그 실체가 계시 되도록 하셨기에 교만한 자들의 눈에는 가리워지게 하신 신비가 아닌가 생각되었습니다. 세번째 유형의 신비는 가려져 있는 것이 우리에게 더 유익하기에 가려진 신비로 말세의 때가 이에 속함을 생각해 보았습니다. 말세의 때가 가려져 있는 것은 오실 신랑을 기다리며 기름을 준비한 지혜로운 다섯 처녀와 그렇지 못했던 어리석은 다섯 처녀를 구분할 수 있는 유익을 얻을 수 있기 때문일 것입니다. 만약 신랑이 올 때가 미리 알려진다고 한다면 한결 같은 마음으로 신랑을 기다린 참 신부의 사랑을 증명할 수 없을 것입니다. 밧모 섬에서 주님을 기다리던 사도 요한의 기다림 속에서, 파수꾼의 아침을 기다림 보다 더 주님을 기다리며 사모하였다는 다윗의 고백 속에서 주님의 모습을 기다리는 지혜로운 처녀들의 모습이 계시되었음을 또한 묵상해 볼 수 있었습니다. 때에 관한 생각을 하다가 선지자를 지칭하는 속이는 영들이 많은 시대에 어떻게 오실 참 신랑을 분간할 수 있는지를 또한 묵상해 보았습니다. 과거에 가께 무사라는 한 일본 영화를 본 적이 있는데 그 영화에서 죽은 주군을 대신하여 가짜로 행세를 하던 주인공이 모든 사람은 속였지만 늘 주인이 타던 말은 속일 수 없었던 장면이 있었습니다. 이 영화의 내용처럼 주님을 늘 등에 태우듯 주님과의 사랑의 관계를 늘 맺어온 사람들만이 참 신랑되신 주님을 가려낼 수 있을 것임을 묵상해 보았습니다. 우리에게 오실 약속을 주신 주님께서 그 시기를 가리셔서 우리에게서 사랑을 기반으로 한 믿음을 보기 원하시기에 깨어서 때가 임박하였음을 알리는, 깨어 기도하는 파수꾼의 사명을 감당하여야 함을 또한 생각해 보았습니다.
